As a receptionist at UAH, DJ is in charge of answering calls, making client appointments and handling inquiries, as well as assisting clients with forms and other documentation.

“I love knowing that I have made a difference in lives of the hospital’s clients and their special pets. It is a wonderful feeling at the end of the day,” said DJ.

A Uxbridge resident and a 7-year veteran of the hospital, DJ has two cats, Masai, and Benny and a bunny named Jasper.

Lindsay S. - Receptionist

As a receptionist at UAH, Lyndsey is in charge of answering calls, making client appointments and handling inquiries, as well as assisting clients with forms and other documentation.

Lindsay lives in Whitinsville with her Shiba Inu Maddox.

Jackie R. - Receptionist

As a receptionist at UAH, Jackie is in charge of answering calls, making client appointments and handling inquiries, as well as assisting clients with forms and other documentation.

Jackie resides in Uxbridge with her husband, Al; their German Shepherd, Gretchen; two horses, Samson and Cheyenne; three cats, Autumn, Amber and Sunshine: and two pot-bellied pigs, Harold and Hannah.

Michele is a veterinary student at Tufts University. She graduated from Cornell University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Animal Sciences. Michele has a strong desire to return to upstate NY to practice small animal medicine, including pocket exotics. 

She resides in Millbury with a mini lop named Madeliene. She misses her two cats and golden retreiver who are back home in NY. To survive veterinary school, she belly dances - "being able to laugh at yourself and relax is critical!"

Meredith is a veterinary student at Tufts University. She has strong interests in small animal emergency medicine and exotics. Meredith received her Bachelor of Arts in Marine Sciences at Cornell University in Ithica, NY. She has spent the years prior to attending veterinary school working at a small animal hospital in Boston and with the medical department at the New England Aquarium.

Meredith shares her Shrewsbury home with two large orange cats, Mango and Pigeon; a corn snake, Boedacia; and her bearded dragon, Grendel.

Jen is a second year veterinary student at Tufts University. She graduated from UMass Amherst with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Animal Science and a Bachelor of Business Arts in Business Management. Jen is interested in working with both small and large animals.

Jen shares her home with a snake named Onyx and a hedgehog named Phaley. She enjoys working around the farm. 

 

 

Christy H. - Veterinary Assistant

Christy is one of our newest veterinary assistants. She helps set up appointments, assists the veteriarians in office visits, draws blood and assist with radiographs.

Christy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences at Cornell University. She previously worked as a Zookeeper at Roger Williams Park Zoo for seven years. She now resides in Uxbridge, MA with her husband and their dog Paco. She hopes to one day own two brown cows!
 
 

Amy C. Email — Veterinary Assistant

Amy is one of our knowledgable veterinary assistants. She sets up client appointments, assists the veterinarians in office visits, draws blood and takes radiographs. She always has a friendly smile for the clients and her coworkers.

A lifelong resident of Whitinsville, Amy happily resides with her two dogs, Nakita and Stanley; and her cat Oscar.

She has so many favorite moments since starting at UAH and interacting with the clients and their pets she has a hard time picking just one!

 
 

dianne.jpgDianne D.  – Veterinary Technician/Tech Supervisor

As one of UAH’s veterinary technicians, Dianne is responsible for obtaining patient history information, aiding the hospital’s veterinarians with their exam room needs, helping provide medical treatment to patients, as well as assisting with the surgical suites and surgical patients.

Dianne has been a technician in the area for over 25 years. She currently lives in Millville with her husband, Rick; two Labrador Retrievers, Shelby and Molly; and  her 5 cats.

In her position as veterinary technician, Beth assists the doctors with appointments and client education. She has been working with animals in different roles for over a decade.

Beth is a Providence College graduate with a BA in Humanities and Political Science. She also completed an Animal Care Program at Becker College and was an instructor for the American Red Cross in Pet First Aid.

Beth is a lifelong Uxbridge resident and lives with her six cats, three dogs and her human son.

Danielle V. Email — Certified Veterinary Technician

As one of UAH’s veterinary technicians, Danielle is responsible for obtaining patient history information, aiding the hospital’s veterinarians with their exam room needs, helping provide medical treatment to patients, as well as assisting with the surgical suites and surgical patients.

A 7-year veteran of the hospital, Danielle loves the variety of people and pets that she meets through her work.

A certified technician and a resident of Douglas, Danielle has two dogs, Olive and Dudley; three cats, Beast, Leroy and Max.

 
 

Dr. Jocelyn Cowan DVM — Veterinarian and Owner

Dr. Cowan has been a veterinarian at UAH since 2004, providing patient care and performing surgery.

“Meeting clients and their companions is one of the great parts of my job. Knowing that I help owners keep their pets safe, healthy and comfortable is a feeling beyond compare,” commented Dr. Cowan.

Dr Cowan completed a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Science and Mathematical Science at Johns Hopkins University. She earned her DVM at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. After finishing veterinary school, Dr. Cowan completed an internship in emergency medicine at Norwalk Veterinary Referal Emergency Center and worked 3 years as an emergency clinician at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists.

She lives in Whitinsville with her husband; their two boys; a cat named Cheyney; their dog Edy, a Fila Brasilerio; and Titan, a Sutton police service dog.

 
 

Dr. Vicki Kucia DVM — Veterinarian and Owner

Dr Kucia joined UAH because of its excellence in medicine, the highly trained technical staff and its state of the art facility.

She is responsible for providing patient care and performing surgery at the hospital since 2006.

Dr Kucia completed an Associate in Science degree at Manchester Community College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at Mount Holyoke College. She received her DVM at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. In addition, she holds a Massachusetts Educator Certificate in Biology and she is board registered by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a Medical Laboratory Technician.

She lives in Millbury with her spouse; three dogs, Guyot, Maggie and Mikey; and 2 cats, Quinn and Dylan.

 

 
 

Dr. Deborah Veo DVM — Veterinarian and Owner

Dr. Veo joined UAH in 2002. As a veterinarian at the hospital, Dr. Veo is responsible for patient care and for performing surgery.

She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Chemistry from Salem State College, and a Master’s degree in Education from Tufts University. She received her DVM from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon finishing veterinary school, Dr. Veo completed an internship in medicine and surgery at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston.

A resident of Upton, Dr. Veo and her husband are proud parents of two sheep, seven cats, 30 chickens and a dog named Aspen.
