DJ S. — Receptionist

As a receptionist at UAH, DJ is in charge of answering calls, making client appointments and handling inquiries, as well as assisting clients with forms and other documentation.

“I love knowing that I have made a difference in lives of the hospital’s clients and their special pets. It is a wonderful feeling at the end of the day,” said DJ.

An Uxbridge, MA resident and a 11-year veteran of the hospital, DJ has two cats, Masai, and Benny and a dog named Gracie.

Lindsay S. - Receptionist

As a receptionist at UAH, Lindsay is in charge of answering calls, making client appointments and handling inquiries, as well as assisting clients with forms and other documentation.

Lindsay lives in Whitinsville, MA with her Shiba Inu Maddox.

Renee G. - Veterinary Assistant

Renee is one of our veterinary assistants. She helps set up appointments, assists the veteriarians in office visits, draws blood and assists with radiographs.

Renee is currently in school to become a Certified Veterinary Technician and also earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Lab Animal Management at Becker College in Worcester, MA. Renee grew up in Smithfield, RI, where she currently lives with her two dogs, Dakota and Baxter and her two cats, O'Malley and Agnes.

Jen currently resides in Brooklyn, CT with her Puggle, Hogan, and her German Shepherd, Odin.

Amy is one of our knowledgable veterinary assistants. She sets up client appointments, assists the veterinarians in office visits, draws blood and takes radiographs. She always has a friendly smile for the clients and her coworkers.

Amy currently resides in Whitinsville, MA with her Alaskan Malamute, Thor.

Casey T. - Veterinary Assistant

Casey is one of our veterinary assistants. She helps set up appointments, assists the veteriarians in office visits, draws blood and assists with radiographs.

Amanda D. - Veterinary Assistant

Amanda is one of our veterinary assistants. She helps set up appointments, assists the veteriarians in office visits, draws blood and assists with radiographs.

Kim M. - Office Manager

Kim is in charge of answering calls, responding to client emails, making client appointments, and handling inquiries, as well as assisting clients with forms and other documentation. In addition to her assorted administrative responsibilities Kim assists the other employees and doctors as needed.

Kim earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute. She currenly lives in Whitinsville, MA with her husband and her daughter; a bulldog named Beatrice; two cats, Kucia and Oliver; a rat named Frumpy and a fish named Romeo.

Dr. Jocelyn Cowan joined the UAH veterinary team in 2004, providing outstanding patient care and performing surgery. “Meeting clients and their companions is one of the great parts of my job. Knowing that I help owners keep their pets safe, healthy and comfortable is a feeling beyond compare,” commented Dr. Cowan.

Dr. Vicki Kucia joined UAH in 2006, because of its excellence in medicine, the highly trained technical staff and its state of the art facility.  Responsible for providing exceptional patient care and performing surgery, Dr. Kucia possesses a special interest in oncology--the study and treatment of cancer.

Dr Kucia completed an Associate in Science degree at Manchester Community College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at Mount Holyoke College.  She received her DVM at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine.  In addition, she holds a Massachusetts Educator Certificate in Biology and she is board registered by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a Medical Laboratory Technician.  Dr. Kucia, a resident of Millbury, MA shares her home with her family; dogs Guyot, Virgil and Tilly and her cats Dylan and Tanner.
