Diagnostic and Therapeutic
The Uxbridge Animal Hospital is equipped to deliver diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pet's complete health care needs.
Radiology Our on-site digital X-ray equipment provides quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of many disorders. We also utilize Ocean State Veterinary Specialists and Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University for radiology consults, if needed. Ultrasound Diagnostics We are proud to offer mobile ultrasound diagnostic services by board-certified veterinary internists on a weekly basis. Ultrasound is a safe and painless diagnostic procedure that captures moving images of internal organs or structures for diagnostic purposes. There is no injection or radiation exposure associated with ultrasound studies. Surgical Specialty We also offer the services of a board-certified surgeon specializing in orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. He is available for consultations and surgical services. Glaucoma Screening Glaucoma is a disease that causes an increase in intraocular pressure. The increase pressure in the eye results in permanent vision loss through progressive death of the nerve cells in the eye. We recommend yearly glaucoma screening all dogs. Any pet can get glaucoma, however some breeds have a higher incidence of glaucoma such as the Spaniel breeds (ex. Cocker and Springer), Terrier breeds (ex. Boston and Fox) and Artic breeds (ex. Husky and Akita). We use an instrument called a tonopen to painlessly measure the pressure in your dog's eyes to catch glaucoma early and prevent irreversible blindness or loss of the eye. Glaucoma is a disease that can be treated if diagnosed early. Blood Pressure Screening Surgical Laser-- COMING SOON! |
